Job summary

The Town of Front Royal is seeking wastewater plant Operators to join the WWTP team. You will perform responsible technical work operating and maintaining the treatment plant and related equipment with training toward a Class IV certification.

The position offers a starting rate of $17.22 per hour with training and support to obtain certification within the second year of employment, and the WWTP runs around the clock, 24/7/365. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
• General knowledge of WWTP maintenance and operation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the Wastewater Treatment Plant and related equipment.
• Record readings from meters and instruments; monitor gauges and control panels.
• Calibrate meters and perform basic laboratory tests as needed.
• Prepare reports and assist in plant operation and maintenance tasks.
• Unload and store chemical supplies; perform routine upkeep on pumps and motors.
