Job summary

Wyoming Valley West School District is seeking an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for the Winter 2026-27 season at WVW High School. The assistant reports to the head coach and helps with all aspects of the basketball program as assigned.

The successful candidate should have knowledge of the sport and be willing to work with high school students. A flexible schedule is required for practices and games, with a commitment to values-based coaching and student-athlete development.

Qualifications

• 1. Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• 2. Previous successful playing or coaching experience preferred.
• 3. The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
• 4. The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.
• 5. Clearances are required at the time of application.

Responsibilities

• The Assistant Coach assists the head coach and is responsible for all aspects of the program delegated from the head coach.
• WVW will expect attendance at practices and games; flexibility in schedule is required.
