Job summary

Stand Together is seeking a Writer for the Grassroots Editorial Team in Arlington, VA. You will craft clear, concise communications to empower grassroots advocates and donors, and influence policy outcomes across platforms.

You will write across emails, blogs, and reports, shaping Stand Together’s perspectives on elections, economy, health care, and government roles, while collaborating with partners to drive societal change through compelling storytelling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional writing experience, preferably in grassroots politics, journalism, or political communications.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to simplify complex policy and strategic concepts into compelling narratives across formats.
• Collaborative, cross-functional mindset; able to navigate fast-paced, matrixed environments and meet deadlines.
• Strategic insight with understanding of state and federal policy and organizational impact.
• Enthusiasm to contribute to Stand Together's principled approach and culture.

As a Writer on the Grassroots Editorial Team, you’ll play a key role in crafting clear, concise, and compelling communications that empower millions of people across the country to advocate for policy changes that get results.

You’ll write across platforms for Stand Together and key partners such as Americans for Prosperity, AFP Action, The LIBRE Initiative, and Concerned Veterans for America, helping to drive societal change through effective storytelling that emphasizes aligning the key institutions of government to their proper roles.

Responsibilities

• Write high-impact content, including emails, blog posts, direct mail, reports, and event communications that inspire grassroots advocates and donor audiences.
• Develop content that clearly conveys Stand Together’s and AFP’s perspectives on key issues such as elections, the economy, health care, immigration, and the role of government.
• Collaborate effectively with a self‑driven, entrepreneurial mindset to develop strategic content for key initiatives, often on tight deadlines.
• Adapt to evolving priorities with a self‑driven, entrepreneurial mindset and a commitment to results.

• Strategic insight and entrepreneurial drive, with a deep understanding of the state and federal policy landscape and the ability to connect daily writing tasks to long‑term organizational impact.
