Job summary

Beaufort County School District is seeking a Head Wrestling Coach in Beaufort, SC to lead the high school program, develop student-athletes, and promote discipline and teamwork. You will oversee practice plans, competition scheduling, and athletic safety while working closely with the Athletic Director and school administrators.

The role requires prior coaching experience and a teaching certificate if possible, along with the ability to pass a background check and hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport.
• Knowledge and/or background in the assigned sport.
• Teaching certificate and experience preferred.
• Must be able to pass criminal background check.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Prepares student athletes for competition and develops skill, discipline and self-esteem.
• Instruct athletes in fundamentals, sportsmanship, strategy and conditioning.
• Assist Athletic Director in scheduling intramural and interscholastic contests.
• Assist in planning a regular program of practice in season.
• Maintain attendance forms, insurance records and related documents.
• Ensure safety conditions during practices and events at all times.
• Enforce conduct standards and administer penalties for breaches.
• Recommend equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate.
