Job summary

Traverse City Area Public Schools is seeking a Wrestling Helper Coach for the 2026/27 season at West Middle School in Traverse City, MI. The helper assists the coaching staff to elevate wrestlers' skills, discipline, and self-esteem, with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Position requires 2-3 days per week, with a $500 stipend. Reports to the Head Coach and on-site Athletic Director/LEAP Liaison; experience in teaching, coaching, and sports medicine is valued.

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate and a bachelor’s degree preferred.
• First aid and CPR training preferred.
• Experience in teaching, coaching, and sports medicine preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate success in area of application.

Responsibilities

• Assist coaching staff with practice sessions and conditioning programs.
• Support the athletic program and athletes with discipline and sportsmanship.
• Maintain safety and order in facilities and during events.
• Record keeping and reporting as required by coaches and AD/LEAP liaison.
