Job summary

Woodgrove High School in Purcellville, VA is seeking a Wrestling Assistant Coach for the winter season (November–February). The role works with the head athletic coach to operate a well-structured program and supports the athletic department in daily duties.

The ideal candidate has coaching experience at high school or college levels and CPR/First Aid training. Virginia teaching license or classified employee status is preferred; prior LCPS experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience at high school or college level.
• CPR and First Aid training completed or enrollment in training program.
• Prefer experience as a teacher or classified employee in Loudoun County Public Schools.
• Prefer a Virginia Teaching License candidate or a full-time classified employee for Loudoun County Public Schools.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with the head athletic coach to operate a well-structured program.
• Collaborate with the athletic department.
• Attend all staff meetings prescribed by the head athletic coach during the season.
• Carry out specific duties designated by the head athletic coach.
• Recommend equipment and supplies needed for the implementation of a sports program.
• Recommend disciplinary actions regarding players violating rules and procedures.
• Foster sportsmanship, pride for the school and community among athletes.
• Perform other duties related to the assistant athletic coach position as requested by the high school principal or athletic director.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience or participation in the sport which you are applying for on high school or college levels.
• Completion of CPR and First Aid training or enrollment in current CPR and First Aid training course.
• Prefer experience as a teacher or classified employee in Loudoun County Public Schools.
• Prefer a Virginia Teaching License candidate or a full-time classified employee for Loudoun County Public Schools.
