Job summary

Central Garden & Pet Company is seeking a Wrapper Operator for our Sidney, Nebraska location. You will support the production line by transporting skids, operating wrapping equipment, and ensuring accurate labeling and quality control.

This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and meeting tight production deadlines in a non-climate-controlled facility with exposure to typical manufacturing environments. You will need physical stamina to lift up to 50–55 lbs, stand for long periods, and work

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in agriculture, production, or a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate an electric skid loader to transport skids to and from the bag lines under the general direction of the line supervisor.
• Transfer filled skids to the wrapping stations, placing them per requirements for automatic wrapping.
• Operate the automatic wrapping equipment to wrap skids, minimizing the excess waste of wrapping materials.
• Monitor bag weights during the filling process and retain product samples at assigned intervals.
• Operate/change the bag coder to assure the packaging is properly identified.
• Perform other duties assigned, including general housekeeping, maintenance, bag labeling, bagging, sealing, stacking, etc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able to lift up to 50-55 lbs.
• Able to work closely with other team members on the production line or in the designated work area, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods, with frequent stooping, squatting, overhead lifting, and walking.
• Proficiency in counting and basic math skills.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
• Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in agriculture, production, or a manufacturing environment is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work environment includes a non-climate-controlled warehouse production facility, with frequent proximity to moving mechanical parts, product irritants/allergens, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
• Occasionally, tasks may involve working at heights, in confined spaces, and amidst moderate noise levels.
