Job summary

Providence Swedish is seeking a clinical expert to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with ileostomies, colostomies, and urinary diversions. You will function as a consultant for patients with altered skin integrity, including pressure ulcers and complicated wounds.

This role emphasizes patient-focused, whole-person care with a commitment to understanding, respect, and collaboration within a large, not-for-profit health system.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license in WA required or to be obtained on hire.
• Current basic life support certification upon hire (AHA).
• WOCN certification pursued or obtained within 2 years of hire.
• Experience with simple and complex wounds and ostomies.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for ostomy and urinary diversion patients.
• Act as a consultant for patients with skin integrity issues including pressure ulcers and wounds.

Required Qualifications

• Washington Registered Nurse License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
• WOCN within 2 years of hire.
• Experience managing simple and complex wounds and ostomies (specialty areas may require additional experience).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
• Applicants without a BSN degree must actively pursue and attain a BSN within five years of hire. Continued employment by Swedish beyond five years is contingent upon attaining the BSN degree.
• Registered Nurses employed by Swedish prior to December 1, 2012 are encouraged to pursue the BSN degree, but obtaining the degree will not be a condition of employment.
• Board certification by the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurses Society (WOCN) upon hire.
