NHS Management, LLC is seeking a Treatment Nurse to oversee skin care for residents under medical direction in a long-term care setting in Prattville, AL. The role emphasizes wound care, assessment, and coordination with physicians and the care planning team.

You will supervise direct wound care, identify and implement care plans, and educate staff on prevention techniques while adhering to regulatory guidelines and facility goals.

Formación

• Current RN license required.
• Wound care certification preferred; we will certify suitable candidates.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee all direct wound care activities to assure practices are consistent
• Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate skin care in residents
• Manage and treat specific skin disorders
• Coordinate weekly skin rounds
• Perform assessment evaluations using observation and inspection
• Confer with the Care Planning Team in care plan development
• Provide treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocol
• Monitor use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and positioning
• Precept new nurses and demonstrate procedures to new staff
• Order and track supplies/equipment for prevention and treatment
• Modify treatment regimens to meet resident needs per medical practices and policies
• Provide information to resident and caregivers on prevention techniques

JOB DETAILS

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing, the Treatment Nurse is responsible for the skin care to residents under the medical direction and supervision of the residents' attending physicians, or the Medical Director of the facility, with an emphasis on treatment and therapy of skin disorders.

Qualifications

• Current RN. license by State required with experience in the long term care or working with the geriatric population preferred.
• Wound care or treatment certifications in the state where the specific duties are being performed is preferred but we will certify the right applicants.

Duties

• Oversee all direct wound care activities to assure practices are consistent
• Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate skin care in residents
• Manage and treat specific skin disorders
• Coordinates weekly skin rounds
• Perform assessment evaluations using techniques including observation, and inspection
• Confer with the Care Planning Team in the development of the care plan
• Provide treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocol
• Monitor the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and positioning
• Precept new nurses and demonstrate individual procedures to new nursing personnel
• Order and tracks the usage of supplies/equipment in prevention and treatment
• Assist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical practices, the regulatory guidelines and the policies and goals of this facility
• Provides information to resident and caregivers on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of the resident
