Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking a frontline healthcare administrator to support patient flow and front desk operations in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will work with physicians and staff to coordinate appointments, manage reports, and ensure accurate patient documentation while upholding patient safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Competent in basic patient work-up for examination.
  • Good medical knowledge to assist doctor during patient exams.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient flow and front desk efficiency.
  • Proficient in basic computer data entry.
  • Knowledge of outpatient hospital services is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Encourages and demonstrates teamwork by following up on diagnostic results, answering phones, and communicating with patients.
  • Communicates effectively with front desk staff to ensure efficient patient flow and perform front office duties.
  • Prepares for next day patients by ensuring reports and results are available and relays information to doctors.
  • Coordinates with personnel to schedule procedures and maintain efficient processes.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of patient medications and messages.
  • Identifies safety issues and adheres to hospital guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:
  • Encourages and demonstrates teamwork by following up on diagnostic results, answering phones, and communicating with patients.
  • Demonstrates care for colleagues by working in all areas, being open to change, and effectively participating in conflict resolution and problem-solving.
  • Collaborates with staff on marketing efforts and assists with marketing mailings and phone calls.
  • Communicates effectively with front desk staff to ensure efficient patient flow and performs front office responsibilities as assigned.
  • Prepares for next day patients by ensuring all necessary reports and results are available, and passes key information to doctors, clinicians, and front office in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates with appropriate personnel to schedule procedures and ensure efficient processes.
  • Maintains efficient patient flow, prepares exam rooms, and addresses all doctors’ requirements.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of office medical equipment and assists doctors during procedures.
  • Maintains timely communication with patients regarding hyperbaric dives, surgery, prescriptions, and testing.
  • Assists in controlling supplies and maintains inventory weekly.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of patient medications, messages, sample medications, and pharmacy documentation.
  • Identifies problems that may affect patient safety and efficiency in the department and demonstrates knowledge and compliance with hospital guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) [Required]

  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) [Required]

OR

  • Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Required]

  • Licensed Paramedic (PARA) [Required]
