Responsibilities

• Confer with Director of Nursing and licensed personnel regarding dermatologic disorders.
• Consult with Care Planning Team on assessment evaluations and skin care plans.
• Initiate requests for consultation; respond to residents, physicians, or nursing staff.
• Examine residents and records to identify when to refer to a physician.
• Maintain policies and procedures for skin care treatments; communicate them to physicians, residents' families and the public.
• Provide written and oral reports/recommendations to attending physician, Medical Director, or DON.
