Job summary

Rocky River Gardens is seeking a compassionate Wound Care Nurse to work with the Director of Nursing in a rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility. You will help advance infection prevention, quality care, and regulatory compliance within the nursing department.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree in Nursing, a valid Ohio nursing license, and at least 3 years of wound care experience, with LTC leadership exposure being a plus. This position is on-site at our Ohio facility.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Valid OH Nursing license.
• Minimum 3 years’ Wound Nurse experience; LTC leadership may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Ensure nursing staff comply with standards, practices, and regulatory requirements for high-quality resident care.
• Support development and implementation of nursing department budgets.
• Implement compliance and quality improvement policies and procedures.
• Surveillance, rounding, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections.
• Lead infection prevention efforts and serve as a resource and educator for infection prevention improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE WOUND CARE NURSE:

• Ensure that all nursing personnel in our facility comply with established standards, practices, and regulatory requirements for the highest quality of resident care.
• Support the development and implementation of nursing department budgets in coordination with the facility administration.
• Implementing compliance and quality improvement policies, programs and procedures.
• Is responsible for surveillance, rounding, analyzing, interpreting and the reporting of healthcare-associated infections
• Supports the development of evidence-based organizational infection prevention policies/standards that meet state, federal, regulatory and accrediting agencies standard
• Leads in infection prevention and serves as a resource, educator, researcher and proponent of change in order to influence infection prevention improvement to provide quality health care within the organization

REQUIREMENTS OF WOUND CARE NURSE:

• As the Wound Nurse, you must possess strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with patients, families, physicians, community resources, and the general public.
• Associate degree in Nursing or higher from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have a valid OH Nursing license
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Wound Nurse preferred, Unit Manager/Nursing Supervisor in Long Term Care experience may be considered
