Qualifications

• LPN license required for Alabama.
• LVN license accepted in some jurisdictions.
• BCLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Alabama ACLS/PALS required; CPI certification required.
• Florida ACLS/PALS/NRP required.
• Georgia ACLS/PALS/NRP within 90 days of employment required.
• Indiana CPR within 90 days of employment required.
• Mississippi ACLS/PALS/NRP with STABLE within 6 months.
• New Mexico ACLS/PALS/NRP; TNCC and NIH Stroke Scale; STABLE within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under RN supervision; monitors vital signs and assists with activities of daily living.
• Conducts focused patient assessments and reports changes to the care team.
• Administers medications, treatments, and injections per protocol.
• Assists in development, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
• Documents patient care and observations accurately in the medical record.
• Educates patients and families on health maintenance and post-discharge care.
• Ensures infection control protocols and safety compliance.
• Assists with wound care, catheterization, and basic procedures within scope.
• Participates in orientation and training of new staff.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Prepares and maintains equipment and supplies for patient care.
• Responds to emergencies and supports code team interventions.
