Job summary

St. Joseph Healthcare in Bangor, Maine is seeking a Board-Certified Wound Management / Hyperbaric Medicine Physician to join on a per diem basis. This consultative specialty practice combines medical and surgical expertise to care for complex wounds.

The position features a Monday–Friday schedule with no call or overnight requirements, a competitive salary with a sign-on bonus, student loan repayment, comprehensive benefits, and about 35–40 patients daily, including 0–6 hyperbaric cases.

Qualifications

• Board certification in an appropriate specialty.
• Wound care and debridement experience.
• Strong procedural/surgical skills.
• Dermatologic knowledge helpful.
• Hyperbaric medicine experience preferred, or willingness to obtain training.
• 40-hour Hyperbaric Medicine training program required.
• Minimum three years of experience preferred for the Medical Director role.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care and hyperbaric medicine services in a consultative, hospital-based setting.
• Collaborate with ED, laboratory, imaging and surgical teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain a regular daytime schedule with no on-call requirements and support a stable work-life balance.
