Job summary

Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT, seeks a Unit Receptionist/Patient Care Technician for the Wound Care Clinic. This per diem, day-shift role supports the nurse by handling front desk tasks, basic patient care, and daily activities, while ensuring smooth unit operations.

Responsibilities include patient transport, vital signs, ADL support, and accurate documentation, with opportunities to grow in a collaborative, patient-centered team environment that values teamwork and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical terminology and keyboarding skills preferred.
• Upon hire, CNA certification, or completion of one year of clinical experience in an accredited RN program, or EMT-B, or equivalent required.
• CPR certification within 3 months of hire required.
• NVCIT certification within 3 months of hire required.
• Must work a minimum of 32 hours.

Responsibilities

• Meets the physical demands of the position.
• Demonstrates ability to cope with and function under stress.
• Meets skill certification requirements for designated units.
• Remain alert and in visual contact with the patient at all times.
• Assist the patient in daily activities as directed by the nurse.
• Assist the nurse in restraining and removing restraints.
• Completes all necessary forms, requisitions, communications and special projects as assigned. Accurately transcribes physician’s orders (when applicable).
• Assists patients and nurses as necessary with ADL, Vital Signs, and patient Plan of Care.
