Job summary

Shandon Baptist Church in the Midlands of South Carolina seeks a Worship Pastor to provide spiritual, pastoral, and musical leadership for the choir-and-orchestra-led service, reporting to the Senior Pastor. You will plan and lead weekly worship, shepherd ministry participants, and oversee the choir, orchestra, and ensembles.

Collaborate with the Modern Worship Pastor and staff to steward resources and facilities, promote unity, and ensure worship excellence.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent from an accredited seminary.
• 5+ years of ministry experience in Worship Ministry and Leadership.
• Committed Christian with alignment to Shandon Baptist Church beliefs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a member of Shandon Baptist Church.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead the weekly choir-and-orchestra-led worship service in collaboration with the Senior Pastor.
• Select music and service elements aligned with the church's mission and philosophy.
• Plan and lead rehearsals for choir, orchestra, and supporting musicians.
• Recruit, develop, shepherd, and retain choir and orchestra members and volunteers.
• Support the Senior Pastor in mission delivery through the Choir and Orchestra Worship Ministry.
• Collaborate with the Modern Worship Pastor to share resources and ensure excellence in worship services.
• Provide direction for Production and Media Teams for Sunday experiences and events.
• Develop and oversee budgets, staffing models, and organizational structure for Worship Ministry.
• Organize and administer choral and orchestral libraries; manage instrument upkeep.
