Job summary

Northwood Community Church in Maple Grove, MN, is seeking a full-time Worship Pastor. In this role, you will lead a vibrant, multi-generational congregation in meaningful worship experiences. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Senior Pastor to create cohesive Sunday services that encourage participation and spiritual growth.

With a focus on pastoral leadership, you will disciple volunteers, manage worship teams, and ensure operational excellence in worship services. A bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of worship leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

Northwood Church is a vibrant, multi-generational Baptist congregation rooted in a rapidly growing area of Maple Grove. We are currently enjoying our third year in our permanent church building, surrounded by thriving new home construction and a fast-growing young adult population. The Opportunity

We are seeking a full-time (with benefits) Worship Pastor who is, first and foremost, a spiritual shepherd. We are looking for a leader who will guide our congregation into engaging, passionate, and deeply biblical worship of our risen Savior, Jesus Christ.

Our ultimate prayer is to find a leader who prepares thoroughly and handles the platform with high spiritual discernment—creating truly holy moments in which our people genuinely encounter God. You will partner closely with our Senior Pastor to design cohesive, focused Sunday services where all elements of our service equip Northwooders to worship, learn, serve, and love God.

Core Responsibilities

• Pastoral Shepherding: Personally disciple, mentor, and care for our worship and tech team volunteers, cultivating a relational, small-group environment.
• Worship Leadership: Lead the musical and liturgical elements of our Sunday services, blending modern arrangements with timeless truth to invite authentic congregational participation.
• Team Development: Actively recruit, coach, and empower the next generation of musicians and tech servants within our community.
• Operational Excellence: Manage scheduling, song selection, and tech booth alignment (audio/video/media) with clear, organized lead times to respect volunteer preparation.

Qualifications

• Strong vocal ability and proficiency leading from an acoustic guitar or keys.
• A proven track record of leading a modern band setup (including tech systems), while remaining fully comfortable leading in a stripped-down, acoustic environment.
• Bachelor's degree with some formal training in Worship Ministry, Music, or Theology and a minimum of 2 years experience leading worship.
