Who we are
Stonebrook Church is a growing church in Maize, Kansas with a zeal for the glory of God, a passion for the gospel, a drive to make disciples, and a sweet spirit of fellowship. Stonebrook Church is truly “leading people to find and follow Jesus.”

Personal Qualifications
- Spiritual vitality and love of the Lord. Character as well as competence.
- The heart of a shepherd. A person of prayer for the church, and the people they lead.
- Affirmation of our statement of beliefs.
- Passion and drive for the ministry.
- A good fit with the staff. A team player, but speaks his mind. Takes coaching well.
- Positive, flexible, team-oriented. Approachable and pleasant.
- Good people skills. The ability to coach and challenge others with professionalism, Christlikeness.
- Good work ethic. Dependable, punctual.
- Proactive in problem solving, coaching, and conflict resolution.
Ministry/Professional Qualifications
- Confident and comfortable on stage, with healthy, humble engagement of the congregation.
- A focus on engaging the congregation in singing, not simply performing as a band.
- Some level of musical training preferred.
- Preferred 2-5 years of meaningful worship ministry experience.
- Some theological instruction preferred, or willingness to seek it.
- Has sufficient personal vocal ability.
- Good recruiter and leader developer.
- Personally organized, and a good organizer of the ministry.
- Able to lead musicians and vocalists through organized, sharp, efficient practices and rehearsals.
- Ability to develop the skills of the vocalists and musicians.
- Preferred proficiency with an instrument such as guitar or keys.
- Ability to develop stage presence and expressiveness of all musicians.
- Understanding of all creative elements: music, lighting, video.
Responsibilities and Expectations
Includes but not limited to…
- Cultivate a culture of congregational singing.
- Develop worship that is a congregation-appropriate version of modern worship, with rich theological grounding.
- Foster a culture of excellence, quality, and spiritual vitality in the worship team.
- Stay informed with developments in worship ministry, while focused on theological foundation.
- Work with the senior pastor (and staff when applicable) to plan and lead weekly worship services that align with sermons and the overall vision of the church.
- Responsible for the development and execution of all areas of the worship service with input from the senior pastor.
- Developing special seasons and worship services (e.g., Christmas, Easter).
- Plan and conduct weekly practices and rehearsals.
- Attend weekly staff meeting.
- Oversight for the scheduling of worship volunteers.
- Development and oversight of AVL and tech team.
- An understanding of technical software such as Planning Center, MultiTracks, etc.
- A passion to recruit and develop volunteers for all areas of worship.
- To participate fully in church life as a member of the church. Not siloed only in worship ministry.
- To assist in the development of the student worship band in coordination with the student pastor. (Continue to develop the pipeline. Students contribute significantly and regularly in our main worship service.)
- To provide input and oversight to various areas church ministry that include music, tech, and creativity.
