• Identify and train new worship leaders to grow the team and culture.
• Collaborate with Arts and other ministries to cultivate a vibrant worship culture.

Job description

The Worship Director must feel called to this position as they are entrusted with fostering a vibrant worship culture, particularly in music. As the Worship Director, this position will lead, coach and train the Worship Team consisting of mainly volunteers.They will collaborate closely with the Arts Team to craft compelling weekend services and special events, while assembling and empowering teams of volunteers.Central to this responsibility is the promotion of a passion for worship within the team as well as the broader church community.The Worship Director is expected to possess strong leadership skills in worship and to actively mentor and cultivate emerging worship leaders.

• Experience working in mid- to large-scale productions
• Possesses strong technical and computer skills
• Gifted musician including playing a lead musical instrument

• Strong general musical knowledge, such that they can help train and lead other musicians and singers
• Willingness to stay informed and familiar with contemporary songs and styles
• Able to organize, handle and take ownership of multiple responsibilities

Ministry Specific Responsibilities

• Lead Sunday worship 2 or more times per month and ensure that other worship events are led by qualified leaders.
• Use Planning Center Online to schedule worship team and band members; keep database updated and current.
• Select songs for Sunday worship, collaborating with the Arts Team. Ensure that team has resources and files needed for worship.
• Lead Thursday night worship rehearsal.
• Work in conjunction with Tech Director to lead audio, video and media team members.
• Plan and help lead worship team initiatives and events other than Sundays.
• Plan and execute auditions for new team members.
• Identify and train new worship leaders to grow team.
• Collaborate with other ministries to develop and grow worship culture throughout the church.
• Other duties or expectations may be assigned by Supervisor.
