Job description

Are you passionate about helping customers unlock the power of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and business intelligence? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Solutions Architect to become a thought leader and deep specialist in Amazon Quick, our AI assistant for work. In this role, you'll work at the intersection of data analytics and generative AI, helping organizations across industries become more proficient with data-driven decision making, AI-powered insights, and automated actions.

AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. This might involve guiding customers as they refactor an application or designing entirely new cloud-based systems. Do you enjoy solving novel and unique technical challenges for customers? Become an AWS Specialist SA!

About the Org: The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. We pride ourselves on thinking big, delivering exceptional results for our customers, and working across AWS as #OneTeam.

Key job responsibilities
  • Serve as a Service Aligned Solutions Architect, functioning as a direct extension of the Amazon Quick service team — embedded with Product, Engineering, and Science to maintain deep technical currency and bring the voice of the customer into every sprint and roadmap decision.
  • Lead technical solution discussions with customer teams, translating complex business needs into scalable architectures that deliver measurable business outcomes — informed by direct access to service team roadmaps, internal design documents, and engineering priorities.
  • Design and architect end-to-end customer solutions leveraging Amazon Quick's capabilities including agentic features, dashboarding, and automation, ensuring solutions are extensible, secure, reliable, and cost-optimized. Leverage your tight coupling with the service team to push the boundaries of what's possible with the platform.
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Science teams as a trusted technical peer — participating in design reviews, beta programs, and feature validation cycles to ensure customer architectures align with platform direction and inform future development.
  • Drive customer feedback to Product and Engineering teams, distilling insights into clear business and technical requirements that influence the Amazon Quick roadmap. As an extension of the service team, serve as the primary bridge between field realities and engineering priorities.
  • Work with AWS field sales, training, and support teams to ensure customer success, while maintaining your unique position as a service-aligned resource with deeper product context than a generalist SA.
  • Collaborate with Go-To-Market Specialist teams to develop and execute adoption strategies through direct customer engagements and scaled events, bringing service-team-level depth to every interaction.
  • Share what you know by capturing best-practice knowledge from Engineering, Science, and field teams, including reference architectures and patterns amongst the worldwide AWS solution architect community in order to build a strong worldwide data and AI/ML community.
  • Act as a thought leader by creating and delivering technical content such as white papers, blog posts, reference architectures, and workshops that educate customers on best practices for business intelligence and generative AI — content informed by your direct partnership with the service team's Science and Engineering orgs.
  • Evangelize AWS services and solutions that benefit customers and publicly speak at events such as AWS Summits and AWS re:Invent, representing both the field SA perspective and the service team's technical vision.
A day in the life

Your daily schedule will be a dynamic mix of solving customers' challenges and creating scalable assets to further promote the knowledge and understanding of Amazon Quick. You will collaborate with field teams to drive successful customer outcomes, as well as work with service teams to incorporate customer feedback into the roadmap. You will partner closely with Go-To-Market (GTM) Specialist counterparts to develop strategies that drive customer adoption further in your territory through one-to-one customer engagement and one-to-many virtual and in-person events.

You'll work in a collaborative environment where continuous learning and knowledge-sharing are core to how the team operates, staying at the forefront of a rapidly evolving space where generative AI is transforming how knowledge workers interact with data.
