World Languages: Language Proficiency Tester

The International Center for Language Studies (ICLS) is a woman-owned, independent language institution based in Washington, DC with over 58 years of experience delivering high-quality training in ESL and foreign languages to government and corporate partnerships. Requirements:

• Knowledge of and experience with the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Skill Level Descriptions and/or ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines
• Thorough experience in profiling and scoring language samples in high-stake testing situations
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaboratively work on a testing team (on Zoom and/or in-person)
• Intuitive attention to detail and innate ability to multitask
• Welcoming, empathetic, patient and calm nature that reads well both in a virtual setting and in-person environment
• Ability to seamlessly adapt to situations on the spot
• Complete all online training provided by the International Center for Language Studies (ICLS)

Preferred:

• Master's degree, preferably in the field of languages or education
• Familiarity with government testing formats (eg. OPI, Department of State, and Department of Defense DLPT)
• Security Clearances (if applicable): public trust, secret, top secret (TS)
