Job summary

Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) seeks talented World Language teachers for a pool for the 2026-27 school year across multiple magnet schools in Greater Hartford. Teachers work under the supervision of the school principal, delivering standards-aligned language instruction and creating engaging, inclusive classrooms.

Qualified candidates hold a BA in education, state certification (023, 101), and knowledge of ACTFL World-Readiness Standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Certification: (023, 101)
• Familiar with ACTFL World-Readiness Standards

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
• Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small-group instruction, and student learning.
• Develops grade-level appropriate lesson plans and instructional materials for students. Then translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential activities, challenge students, maintain the target language in class, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual students' needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
