Job summary

Classical Charter Schools is seeking an experienced World Language & Debate Teacher to join our team. Prior Latin teaching experience is not required; we welcome educators with experience in any world language and a passion for Latin curriculum.

The strongest candidates will have a solid understanding of language instruction, grammar, vocabulary development, and effective language teaching. The school provides curriculum, coaching, and support for successful Latin instruction.

Qualifications

• Latin teaching experience, coursework, or prior proficiency is not required.
• Bachelor’s or graduate degree required.
• Experience teaching a world language.
• New York State certification preferred but not required.
• At least three years of teaching experience preferred.
• Experience teaching in a high-performing charter school or similarly rigorous academic environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead instruction across Latin and Debate.
• Deliver rigorous lessons using Classical curriculum.
• Analyze data to inform instructional improvements.
• Establish a structured classroom culture.
• Collaborate with families to communicate progress.
