Job summary

TCR Americas in Seattle, WA seeks a Workshop Manager to lead our GSE workshop and drive performance across safety, quality, and efficiency. You will coordinate maintenance activities, allocate resources, and ensure timely delivery while upholding company standards.

As a senior leader, you will mentor technicians, implement SAP-guided processes, and collaborate with customers and suppliers. A strong focus on safety, continuous improvement, and cost control is expected.

Qualifications

• Expert GSE maintenance/repair experience (mechanics, hydraulics, electrical systems).
• Ability to make complex decisions under pressure; stress-resistant.
• Fluent in English; strong leadership and communication.

Coaching and Leading the Team

• Taking end‑responsibility for quality, efficiency, safety, and resources within your unit.

Management of the Workshop

• Implement TCR processes and procedures with the utilization of SAP to achieve the following.
• Manage resource and labor allocation in coordination with management.
• Ensure correct stock management by determining and ordering the available and needed resources such as spare parts, office supplies, etc.
• Provide insights to management regarding the feasibility of the planning and advise on viable solutions and bottlenecks.
• Identify and visualize the planned maintenance and outstanding problems using available systems.
• Track the progress of work packages (disruptions and maintenance) based on available resources and monitor standard times, bottlenecks, backlog, and feasibility within the given mandate.
• Assist team members in processing and making production figures and/or quality data visible to operations.
• Create, check, evaluate, and sign inspection lists.
• Implement contingency procedures.

Subject‑Specific Support to the Team Members

• Instruct in maintenance and malfunction repair for safe maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Transfer knowledge for professional development of team members.

Collaborating with Key Stakeholders

• Coordinate with departments such as customers, suppliers, and TCR departments.
• Provide information to team members regarding matters that influence operations.
• Advise customers regarding the availability of vehicles and equipment.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to professional knowledge and set up quality measurements in consultation with management.
• Propose improvements such as adjusting procedures and creating new work agreements.
• Investigate and produce technical improvements (modifications) to equipment to reduce cost per unit and increase customer availability.
• Perform tasks specific to technicians, including related responsibilities and authorities.
• Take end‑responsibility for workshop administration within the unit and cooperate with relevant departments; this includes work orders, invoicing preparation, and time control.
• Demonstrate active safety leadership by driving safety culture and implementing initiatives to continuously improve TCR’s safety performance and OHSA management system.

Who We Are Looking For

• Expert technical background in GSE maintenance and repair: mechanics, hydraulics, electricity, air pressure, air‑conditioner/refrigeration units, and electrical systems (preferred).
• Ability to make complex decisions while under pressure.
• Stress‑resistant.
• Assist in implementation of formal quality improvement.
• Demonstrate commitment to achieving an OHSA‑friendly working environment by seeking additional safety education.
