Job summary

Phillips, Inc. seeks an Assist Foreman to supervise and coordinate the activities of workers on construction projects. You will oversee a crew of up to five, assist other workers, and ensure safety and efficiency across site operations.

Responsibilities include site preparation, reading plans, directing equipment operators, handling materials, and erecting temporary structures as required. Two years of relevant experience and the ability to follow directions are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery or materials.
  • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications.
  • Position, join, align, or seal structural components such as concrete walls or pipes.
  • Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas for work.
  • Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools and distribute them per plans.
  • Erect or dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, or other temporary structures.
  • Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts.

Job description

Assist Foreman in supervision and coordination of activities of workers engaged in construction projects. Supervise crew and assist other workers in construction projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
  • Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities
  • Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials
  • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes
  • Position, join, align, or seal structural components, such as concrete wall sections or pipes
  • Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed
  • Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations , according to project plans or specifications
  • Erect or dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, or other temporary structures
  • Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • May supervise a crew of up to 5 workers
Requirements:

Must be able to follow specific directions; perform a variety of duties which may often change; work within standards of accuracy. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, documents, instructions, procedure manuals, routine report writing, and effective communication skills .

Education and Experience:
  • Two years relevant experience
