Compensation includes a base salary of $131,600.00 - $219,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Manheim is on a journey to enhance labor utilization and efficiency by improving our labor planning capabilities. We are looking for a senior thought leader to help guide the team on this journey, understand where we can gain the most value, and develop a plan to scale new processes and technology across the company. The goal of this work is to improve client satisfaction, labor efficiency, and employee experience across our 10,000 non-exempt employees.
This role will report to the Sr. Director of Workforce Analytics on the Operational Excellence team and will have an individual contributor direct report.
Primary Duties & Key Responsibilities
Opportunity Discovery:Conduct thorough discovery of existing behaviors, processes, and technology to identify opportunities for workforce optimization.
Value Assessment:Evaluate the potential value of identified opportunities to the business, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Problem Assessment:Assess the difficulty and feasibility of addressing identified challenges, considering technical, operational, organizational and financial factors.
Business Case Development:Develop comprehensive business cases for proposed workforce strategies, including detailed analyses and justification for recommended actions.
Executive Presentation:Present strategic roadmaps and business cases to executive leadership, clearly articulating the benefits, risks, and expected outcomes.
Project Leadership:Lead the execution of approved workforce strategies, overseeing cross-functional teams and ensuring successful implementation through change management.
Industry Monitoring:Stay informed about industry trends, competitive advancements, and best practices in workforce management to keep strategies current and effective.
Capacity Planning:Conduct analyses to identify capacity planning issues and assess their impact on business performance and financial outcomes.
Strategic Guidance:Partner with management to provide strategic guidance on workforce-related matters, addressing evolving business and staffing needs.
Standardization:Drive the standardization of workforce planning and management processes to ensure consistency and scalability.
Technology Modernization: Build a perspective on what tools and systems can be utilized to help Manheim accomplish our labor optimization goals. This includes machine learning, artificial intelligence (A.I.), predictive analytics, and data management capabilities.
Labor Planning Strategy:Develop and implement labor planning strategies that align with business goals and market demands.
Stakeholder Relationships:Build and maintain strong relationships with field and business stakeholders, creating forums for feedback and influencing better labor utilization practices.
Required Experience & Specialized Knowledge and skills
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (business, analytics, engineering, computer science) and 10 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 8 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 5 years’ experience in a related field; or 14 years’ experience in a related field
7+ years of relevant analytical experience, experience in the automotive industry preferred
Advanced understanding of workforce management concepts (capacity planning, scheduling etc.)
Experience leading organizational transformation through direct reports, influence, and thought leadership.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment while operating with considerable autonomy.
Exceptional written and verbal communication.
Compelling storytelling ability to achieve desired outcomes and extensive presentation experience required.
Strong financial knowledge including a working knowledge of P&L statements.
Skilled at translating operational analysis into consumable insights that drive business decisions.
Ability to anticipate stakeholders’ needs.
Familiarity and experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools along with knowledge of enterprise data warehouses.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time early in the role.
