Adjunct Instructor – Skilled Trades Pipefitting

Paul D. Camp Community College, a 2‑year college in Southeast Virginia, seeks part‑time Adjunct Instructors to teach non‑credit pipefitting programs. Candidates will work up to 29 hours per week, with schedules varying by class schedule. Instructors are responsible for teaching, mentorship, assessment, and program facilitation in classrooms, laboratories, and individual conferences.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging instruction in pipefitting techniques and industry practices.
  • Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and track learning outcomes.
  • Plan and organize lessons to maximize student learning and promote higher‑order thinking.
  • Participate in the college mission and community through mentorship and service.
  • Occasionally support hybrid instruction as required.
  • Assist agency or state government during emergency declarations if required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Knowledge of industry‑related safety topics.
  • Knowledge of industry‑related tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of industry‑related practices, processes, and performance tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Prior teaching or training experience in a workplace or community/technical college setting.
