Job summary

This is a unique opportunity to join the plant during an important stage of its growth and help establish the systems, processes, and workforce strategies that will support the facility for years to come.

We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Workforce Planner who wants to play a meaningful role in building a high-performing manufacturing operation.

This is a 100% on-site position located at 2473 W. 2950 N., Salt Lake City, UT 84116. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role.

The Opportunity

The Workforce Planner will play a critical role in ensuring Bridor has the right people, in the right areas, at the right time to meet production requirements.

You will work closely with Production, Operations, Human Resources, and Finance to translate production forecasts into effective workforce plans and employee schedules.

This position will analyze production requirements, staffing levels, attendance, overtime, labor utilization, and workforce trends to anticipate needs before they become operational challenges.

Because this is a growing facility, you will also have the opportunity to help develop and improve workforce-planning practices as the Salt Lake City operation continues to expand.

What You Will Do
Workforce Planning & Forecasting
  • Analyze production schedules, business forecasts, seasonal demand, and operating requirements to determine labor needs.
  • Develop short- and long-term workforce plans aligned with production requirements.
  • Anticipate staffing shortages, coverage gaps, and excess capacity before they impact production.
  • Partner with Production and HR to adjust staffing plans based on changing business needs.
  • Support workforce planning for production growth, peak periods, new products, and changing production volumes.
Production Scheduling & Labor Optimization
  • Develop and maintain employee schedules across production areas and shifts.
  • Ensure production lines have appropriate staffing coverage based on production requirements and employee availability.
  • Monitor attendance, absenteeism, overtime, staffing levels, and labor utilization.
  • Identify scheduling inefficiencies and recommend adjustments that improve productivity and control labor costs.
  • Help leadership balance available labor across production lines and departments.
  • Respond to changing production priorities and make timely workforce recommendations.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Maintain workforce-planning models, staffing reports, schedules, and workforce data.
  • Track key metrics including overtime, absenteeism, labor utilization, productivity, and staffing gaps.
  • Develop reports and dashboards that provide leadership with clear workforce visibility.
  • Analyze workforce trends and use data to recommend operational improvements.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling and workforce records.
Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Work closely with Production, Operations, Human Resources, and Finance to align workforce strategies with business needs.
  • Provide HR with staffing forecasts to support proactive recruiting.
  • Assist with workforce planning for onboarding and training new employees.
  • Communicate workforce plans and scheduling changes clearly to managers and frontline leadership.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to labor utilization, productivity, and operational efficiency.
Compliance & Food Manufacturing Standards
  • Ensure workforce schedules and practices comply with applicable labor requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate workforce-planning and scheduling documentation.
  • Support labor-management reporting and audit requirements as needed.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, and facility safety policies.
What We Are Looking For
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in workforce planning, labor planning, production scheduling, capacity planning, or a related function.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or production environment strongly preferred.
  • Food, bakery, beverage, consumer packaged goods, or other high-volume process manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting operations where production requirements and staffing needs can change quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to use workforce and production data to make staffing and scheduling decisions.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Certification or training in Constraint Management, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Process Improvement is a plus.
Technical Skills
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyze workforce and operational data.
  • Experience with workforce-management, scheduling, ERP, or HRIS systems.
  • Experience with UKG/Kronos, SAP, Workday, or similar systems preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain workforce reports, staffing models, and performance metrics.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and labor-efficiency concepts is a plus.

The Workforce Planner will work closely with production leadership and frontline teams and will regularly spend time in manufacturing areas. The position requires adherence to all applicable food safety, GMP, personal protective equipment, and workplace safety requirements.
