Job summary

The State of Missouri is seeking a Workforce Development Trainer who will design and deliver engaging learning experiences, both in-person and virtually, to help participants gain new skills and advance professionally.

You will facilitate sessions on communication, leadership, and soft skills; develop relevant content; track attendance and progress; provide coaching and feedback; and collaborate with program staff to keep training current and impactful.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent.
  • 2–4 years of facilitation/workforce development experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with diverse or underserved populations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions on professional development topics.
  • Develop relevant training content meeting program needs.
  • Deliver content clearly and learner-centered.
  • Track attendance and participant progress, solicit feedback.
  • Provide constructive coaching and support to participants.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, engaging learning environment.
  • Prepare training materials and resources in advance.
  • Communicate with program staff and leadership about engagement and trends.
  • Assist with onboarding and setting expectations for participants.
  • Suggest curriculum improvements and opportunities for program refinement.
  • Collaborate to keep content current with organizational standards.
  • Represent the training team professionally with participants and partners.
  • Carry out other training-related duties as assigned.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay

  • Facilitate in‑person and virtual training sessions that provide professional development opportunities on topics such as communication, leadership, collaboration, and other soft skills.
  • Assist in developing relevant content that meets the department's continuous learning needs
  • Deliver content in a clear, engaging, and learner-centered manner
  • Track attendance, participant progress, and engagement throughout each program by soliciting feedback in surveys and discussions and utilizing MOVERS Learn
  • Provide constructive feedback and identify individuals who may need additional coaching or support
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment
  • Prepare all training materials, handouts, visual aids, and classroom resources in advance to ensure smooth session delivery.
  • Communicate proactively with program staff and leadership regarding participant engagement, concerns, or performance trends.
  • Assist with onboarding activities by helping new participants understand expectations, schedules, and program requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by sharing observations, suggesting curriculum enhancements, and identifying opportunities for program refinement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure training content remains current, relevant, and aligned with organizational standards.
  • Represent the training team professionally when interacting with participants, partners, and internal staff.
  • Carry out other training‑related duties as assigned to support program success.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
  • Experience in facilitation, workforce development, or human resources preferred
  • Strong communication, relationship building, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with HireTrue/MOCareers is preferred
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Experience working with diverse or underserved populations is a plus
