Job summary

Lighthouse Louisiana is seeking a Workforce Development Specialist I to provide vocational rehabilitation services and Pre-ETS to teens in the Southeast Louisiana region. You will build partnerships, coach clients, and support employment outcomes within the Pathways to Success initiative.

The role requires collaboration with local employers, program staff, and community partners to drive successful job placements and outcomes. Travel within the service region is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, social services, vocational rehabilitation, or related field; CESP credential or willingness to obtain within 1 year.
• Strong oral and written communication; ability to assess client strengths and develop plans.
• Minimum 3 years supporting individuals with disabilities; 1 year case management; teens experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop partnerships with businesses and employment stakeholders.
• Assist individuals with developing pre-employment skills.
• Collaborate to implement vocational rehab components and work-based learning.
• Provide direct services through vocational rehab and Pre-ETS programs.
• Manage a caseload of job seekers with disabilities; track placements.
• Collaborate with employers to create job opportunities aligned with client goals.
• Engage employers and participate in job fairs and outreach.
• Document activities in Salesforce and state forms clearly and professionally.
• Administer Pre-ETS to teens per program goals and requirements.
• Pursue ongoing knowledge to support program success.
• Work with Workforce Development Manager to create training programs.
• Participate in education and advocacy events promoting inclusion.
• Represent Lighthouse Louisiana with professionalism at community events.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
