Job summary

Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana is seeking a role based at our corporate office in Indianapolis. The position supports career guidance, training, employment placement and barrier-removal services, coordinating with mission teams and partners to ensure comprehensive wraparound support.

The role requires initiative, strong documentation, and collaboration across programs. Applicants should be comfortable with a grant-supported, at-will employment arrangement and travel to meet participant

Responsibilities

  • Implements and adheres to GoodwillNext program components including job readiness, training, work experience, employment, retention and partnerships.
  • Assesses participants to determine needed support and connects them to services.
  • Coaches participants to set and achieve long-term educational and employment goals with ongoing follow-up.
  • Organizes and delivers job readiness preparation in groups or individually; stays informed on labor market trends to share opportunities.
  • Develops relationships with community partners to expand support services and serves as a primary contact for referrals.
  • Collaborates with mission program teams to coordinate services and ensure comprehensive support.
  • Maintains participant records and generates reports, tracks progress, and ensures documentation across reporting systems.
  • Contributes to program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.

This position is based out of our corporate office (1635 W. Michigan St. Indianapolis) and the overall range is $22-$25/hr. including benefits (below):

Job Summary

GoodwillNext develops education and certification solutions for individuals with a high school diploma to increase their economic mobility and help close growing skills gaps in the communities we serve. The program supports individuals who are underemployed or unemployed by providing pathways to sustainable careers. This role provides career guidance, training, employment placement, and barrier-removal support to help participants achieve their educational and career goals. This role works with mission leadership to coordinate funding, connect participants with available resources, and ensure compliance with required data tracking and reporting. This position collaborates across workforce development and mission-based programs, including SNAP Employment and Training (SNAP E&T), employment services, education and training programs, and barrier-removal services, to provide comprehensive, wraparound support. This role works with minimal supervision and relies on initiative and self-direction to meet established program and organizational goals.

Example Duties and Activities
  • Implements and adheres to all components of the GoodwillNext program, including job readiness, training, work experience, employment, retention, and partnerships.
  • Assesses participants to determine the nature and level of support needed and connects them to appropriate services, including internal mission programs and community resources.
  • Coaches participants to set and achieve long-term educational and employment goals; conducts ongoing one‑on‑one follow‑up to monitor progress and provide guidance.
  • Organizes and delivers job readiness preparation in individual or small group settings; stays informed on current labor market trends to share relevant employment opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with community partners, including internal staff, community agencies, educational institutions, financial partners, and employers, to expand available support services. Serves as a primary point of contact for partner referrals.
  • Collaborates with mission program teams (e.g., SNAP E&T, employment services, and barrier removal programs) to coordinate services and ensure participants receive comprehensive support.
  • Maintains participant records and databases; generates reports, tracks progress, and ensures accurate documentation using multiple reporting systems.
  • Contributes to program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts for GoodwillNext.

Other Requirements
  • Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule beyond normal business hours.
  • Travel - is willing to travel to participants’ homes, workplaces, community centers, and other venues at times that are convenient to individuals being served.
  • Background Screening - All candidates must pass a pre‑employment background check. Must have a valid driver’s license, up‑to‑date auto insurance, and a good driving record.
Employment Status
  • This position is supported by grant funding and is considered at‑will employment. While the organization anticipates the role will continue long‑term, continuation of the position is dependent upon the availability and renewal of grant funding.
