This position is responsible for the oversight of various functions performed by the city’s contracted third-party administrator and for completion of various assignments for municipal and classified injured employees qualifying for Workers’ Compensation benefits, including Salary Continuation.
The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc.
Requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Four years professional experience in Finance, Accounting or Worker’s Compensation are required; three years of which are in Worker’s Compensation.
Worker's compensation related experience at the professional level may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
A Texas Workers’ Compensation Adjuster License is required.
Preference shall also be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
The selection process will involve application review and/or interview.
If yes, this position is subject to random drug testing if a promotional position; candidate must pass an assignment drug test.
Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification.
