Job summary

Ortho Sport & Spine Physicians in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Coordinator to manage WC cases from intake to release, coordinating with physicians and case managers. You will handle appointments, authorizations, billing dictation, and daily communications with carriers, employers, adjusters, and patients.

A solid knowledge of ICD-10/CPT codes and EMR systems (preferably EClinical Works) and a professional, discreet approach are essential in this fast-paced, team-oriented

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 years healthcare experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of worker’s compensation insurance and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of ICD-10/CPT codes.
• Ability to build trust with physicians and case managers.
• Knowledge of electronic medical record systems (preferably Eclinical Works).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage Workers’ Compensation cases from intake to release, coordinating with physicians and case managers.
• Manage Workers’ Comp: appointments, follow-up, authorizations, communication with physicians, case managers, employers and adjusters.
• Copy dictation for Workers’ Comp Billing, employer and case manager liaison.
• Enter missed Workers’ Comp appointments and patient demographics; follow up with patient and adjuster or case manager on missed appointments.
• Schedule Workers’ Comp appointments and enter insurance information for Health History.
• Address and resolve all Workers’ Comp issues.
• Obtain authorization for treatment (PT, FCE, second opinion, surgery) and schedule all WC appointments.
• Coordinate second opinion and IME appointments with physicians.
• Maintain relationships with carriers, employers and adjustors; assist WC Director in market development.
• Communicate WC patient information daily to MD for appointments (pre-cert status, light duty availability).
• Attend meetings with carriers, adjustors and WC Director.
• Submit PPD ratings the day after dismissal.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Manage location’s Workers’ Compensation cases throughout the continuum from initial appointment to patient’s release, working closely with physicians and case managers. Job Responsibilities


• Manage Workers’ Comp: appointments, follow-up, authorizations, communication with Physicians, Case Managers, Employers and Adjusters


• Copy Dictation for Workers’ Comp Billing, Workers’ Comp, Employer and Case Manager Liaison,


• Enter Missed Workers’ Comp Appointments, patient demographics. Follow up with patient and adjustor or case manager on all missed appointments


• Schedule Workers’ Comp Appointments. Enter all appropriate Insurance information, contacts and phone numbers to complete Health History


• Address and take action to resolve all Workers’ Comp issues


• Obtain authorization for treatment, Physical Therapy, Functional Capacity Evaluation, Second Opinion, surgery, and any other MD orders for WC patients. Schedule all WC patients’ appointments.


• Coordinate Second Opinion and Independent Medical Exam appointments with Physicians


• Maintain current relationships with Carriers, Employers, Adjustors. Work in concert with WC Director to establish new relationships in the market


• Communicate all WC patient information daily to MD for appointments (e.g., pre-cert status, availability of light duty, etc.)


• Attend scheduled meetings with Carriers, Adjustors, and WC Director


• Submit Permanent Partial Disability (PPD) ratings the next day after patient is dismissed from physician’s care

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
