Job summary

State Compensation Insurance Fund in San Diego seeks an Attorney to join the San Diego State Contracts Legal unit. You will handle and litigate workers' compensation cases, with in-person and virtual appearances in San Diego, and occasional travel.

California-licensed attorneys are encouraged to apply; prior experience is welcomed but not required. You will draft pleadings, perform discovery, negotiate settlements, and appear in court as needed to serve our clients.

Qualifications

• Attorneys licensed in California to apply.
• Newly admitted attorneys encouraged to join our team.
• Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients inside and outside the firm.
• Draft pleadings, correspondences and other communications.
• Conduct thorough discovery and document review.
• Negotiate settlements and draft agreements.
• Make court appearances, including trials when required.
