Job summary

Goldman, Magdalin, Straatsma LLP, a premier California workers’ compensation defense firm, seeks an Associate Attorney to manage all aspects of workers’ compensation cases, from case evaluation and guidance to negotiation and, if needed, litigation.

Candidates should have at least five years’ defense experience, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and a proven ability to interact effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.

Responsibilities

• Manages a full caseload of workers’ compensation cases of varying degrees of complexity
• Creates litigation plans.
• Creates budget plans, if necessary.
• Conducts discovery.
• Travels to court and other appearances.
• Tries cases while maintaining exceptional client interaction.
• Composes motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Prepares cases for trial.
• Communicates with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties to effectively represent clients.

Position Summary

The Associate Attorney will be responsible for all aspects of the workers’ compensation case, including evaluating the merits of the case, providing guidance and counsel to the clients through effective communication, medical review, and negotiating, settling and litigating cases, if necessary.
