Job summary

McAngus Goudelock & Courie in Oxford, MS seeks attorneys to join our Workers' Compensation team. Hybrid option after training, with remote possibilities noted.

Ideal candidates have 1-5 years of civil-litigation practice and will gain hands-on experience from inception to trial with direct client contact. Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in Mississippi or have pending Mississippi bar exam results.
• 1–5 years of practice experience in civil litigation.
• Hands-on experience in all phases of civil litigation from case inception to trial, with direct client contact.

Responsibilities

• Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations.
• Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed.
• Prepare discovery responses and manage document production.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports.
• Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary.
• Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants.
