Groundswell is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Workday Delivery Lead/ Project Manager to lead the successful execution of the Workday implementation for a complex Intelligence Community modernization program. Reporting to the Program Manager, this individual will be accountable for the day-to-day execution of the Workday deployment and for ensuring delivery aligns with the Workday Implementation Methodology, approved solution architecture, customer requirements, and program milestones.
Lead day-to-day execution of the Workday implementation across applicable functional and technical workstreams.
Ensure adherence to the Workday Implementation Methodology, including required phases, activities, checkpoints, deliverables, and readiness criteria.
Coordinate Workday activities across requirements, design, configuration, integrations, testing, deployment, and post-production transition.
Establish clear implementation priorities and ensure Workday teams remain aligned with approved scope and program milestones.
Drive implementation planning, prioritization, backlog refinement, and delivery activities in collaboration with the Business Analyst and Solution Architect.
Develop and maintain detailed Workday implementation plans and milestones aligned with the program-level Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
Monitor Workday delivery progress and identify implementation-level risks, issues, blockers, and dependencies.
Develop mitigation plans for Workday delivery risks and elevate program-level schedule, contractual, financial, or external dependency impacts to the Program Manager.
Provide the Program Manager with accurate, timely status on Workday implementation health, milestones, risks, dependencies, resource needs, and required decisions.
Coordinate with the Program Manager to ensure changes or risks within the Workday implementation are reflected in overall program planning and governance.
Support Workday deployment readiness and go-live planning across functional and technical workstreams.
Serve as the primary customer-facing leader for Workday implementation activities and workstream-level delivery discussions.
Lead Workday implementation meetings, design and milestone reviews, status discussions, readiness reviews, and issue-resolution sessions.
Translate customer business objectives and requirements into actionable Workday delivery plans.
Partner with customer functional and technical stakeholders to resolve Workday implementation issues and drive timely decisions.
Support the Program Manager in program-level customer reviews and executive briefings by providing Workday implementation status, risks, accomplishments, and upcoming milestones.
Maintain a strong understanding of Workday architecture, capabilities, implementation practices, and product limitations.
Partner with the Solution Architect to ensure Workday solutions are scalable, secure, supportable, and aligned with approved architecture.
Review implementation approaches with Workday functional and technical leads to ensure alignment with Workday best practices.
Facilitate resolution of cross-functional Workday design and implementation issues.
Ensure configurations, integrations, and implementation decisions remain aligned with approved requirements and strategic solution direction.
Lead and mentor the cross-functional team responsible for Workday implementation activities.
Coordinate the day-to-day activities of Groundswell and subcontractor personnel assigned to Workday delivery workstreams.
Hold Workday team members accountable for implementation deliverables, quality, schedules, and methodology requirements.
Manage Workday delivery capacity, resource needs, and workload across implementation workstreams.
Identify Workday resource or subcontractor performance concerns and coordinate with the Program Manager on program-level or contractual actions as necessary.
Foster accountability, collaboration, quality, and customer focus across the Workday delivery organization.
Track Workday implementation metrics, milestones, deliverables, and readiness indicators.
Ensure Workday implementation documentation meets established standards and methodology requirements.
Drive continuous improvement across Workday delivery processes and practices.
Capture implementation lessons learned, best practices, and reusable delivery frameworks.
Must be local to the Washington, DC metropolitan area (or willing to relocate) and willing to work onsite within customer SCIF environments 3-4 days per week.
Approximately 5% travel within the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region is required.
U.S. Citizenship required per contract requirements.
Ability to obtain and maintain a government Top Secret security clearance with SCI favorability and Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph, as required by contract.
10+ years of experience in enterprise software delivery, technical project management, or Workday implementation leadership.
Experience leading at least three (3) Workday deployments from planning through go-live.
Workday HCM Certification required.
Workday Engagement Manager/Project Manager (EM/PM) Certification required.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification, such as DAWIA Level Three in Program Management, required.
Deep understanding of the Workday Implementation Methodology and demonstrated experience applying it throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Experience leading cross-functional Workday functional and technical teams.
Demonstrated experience coordinating Workday requirements, design, configuration, integrations, testing, deployment, and go-live readiness activities.
Strong customer-facing leadership experience with enterprise and/or Federal clients.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, presentation, organization, and time-management skills.
Experience with public sector software implementations.
Experience working closely with Workday product, engineering, or OEM teams.
Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authority to Operate (ATO) activities.
Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) and/or Intelligence Community (IC) software implementations.
The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:
$100,901.00 - $199,815.00
