Job summary

ERock is seeking a highly organized Work Planner to manage, schedule, and optimize maintenance activities at McCloud Power Station in El Paso, Texas. The role links engineering, field technicians, procurement, and corporate operations to maximize uptime and readiness.

You will develop the site master schedule, track KPIs, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while coordinating with multiple teams and third-party contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or equivalent hands-on technical/planning experience.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing planning, maintenance scheduling, or materials management.
• Experience within a power generation facility or chemical processing plant is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with modular natural gas generation equipment, industrial engines, or complex mechanical/electrical systems.
• Strong background utilizing ERP/MRP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) alongside advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance Scheduling & Planning: Partner with the Plant Engineer and maintenance supervisors to build, optimize, and level the site master schedule.
• CMMS Optimization: Serve as the site super-user for the CMMS. Track preventive maintenance compliance and log work orders, parts usage, and technical findings from Generator Technicians.
• Resource & Material Coordination: Work alongside Supply Chain and Procurement to ensure that critical spares, tools, and contractor logistics are fully aligned before work kickoff.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with the Plant Administrator for third-party contractor badging, safety orientations, and site access readiness.
• Safety & Compliance Alignment: Integrate safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), arc flash safety, and safe work permitting directly into planned job packages.
• Performance Reporting: Build maintenance dashboards, resource utilization updates, and schedule compliance reports to keep plant leadership and corporate teams aligned on project status
• Other responsibilities as directed by supervisor.

Position Overview:

ERock is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Work Planner to manage, schedule, and optimize maintenance and operations activities at McCloud Power Station in El Paso, Texas. The Work Planner serves as a key link among engineering, field technicians, procurement, and corporate operations. This role supports plant reliability by maximizing equipment uptime, improving material readiness, and ensuring preventive and corrective work is fully planned, resourced, and safely executed. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager at McCloud Power Station.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance Scheduling & Planning: Partner with the Plant Engineer and maintenance supervisors to build, optimize, and level the site master schedule. Ensure a clear look-ahead path for routine and major overhauls.
• CMMS Optimization: Serve as the site super-user for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Track preventive maintenance compliance and log work orders, parts usage, and technical findings from Generator Technicians.
• Resource & Material Coordination: Work alongside Supply Chain and Procurement to ensure that critical spares, tools, and contractor logistics are fully aligned before work kickoff. Track inventory lead times to mitigate supply risk areas.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with the Plant Administrator for third-party contractor badging, safety orientations, and site access readiness.
• Safety & Compliance Alignment: Integrate safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), arc flash safety, and safe work permitting directly into planned job packages.
• Performance Reporting: Build maintenance dashboards, resource utilization updates, and schedule compliance reports to keep plant leadership and corporate teams aligned on project status

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or equivalent hands-on technical/planning experience.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in manufacturing planning, maintenance scheduling, or materials management. Experience within a power generation facility or chemical processing plant is highly preferred.
• Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with modular natural gas generation equipment, industrial engines, or complex mechanical/electrical systems.
• Software Proficiency: Strong background utilizing ERP/MRP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) alongside advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Documentation Skills: Ability to interpret engineering drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and technical production manuals.
• Compliance & Logistics: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screening if required for site access.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience planning maintenance or outage work in power generation, distributed energy, manufacturing, chemical processing, or another industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of CMMS or enterprise asset management systems and experience developing job plans, bills of material, and scheduling reports.
• Strong communication, organization, analytical, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Experience with modular natural gas generation equipment, reciprocating engines, microgrids, or related mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to prioritize competing work, identify schedule and material risks, and follow through in a high-reliability operating environment.
