This is a full time, onsite position on Maxwell Air Force base in Montgomery, Alabama.

Job Overview

The Work Order Specialist I provides operational support for, and administration of, the Air Force Civil Engineering work order process. This position enters data into software programs and electronic project files. Coordinates work order requests on repair projects. Administrative tasking, ensuring project paperwork is complete. Memo editing for accuracy and edits for accuracy, grammar, format, and completeness. The customer service unit ensures customers are provided courteous, prompt, and effective service. This role collaborates with coworkers, facilities workers, and supervisors to schedule and package work activities to maximize work efficiencies while minimizing contract resources.

This is a full time, onsite position on Maxwell Air Force base in Montgomery, Alabama.

Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties
  • Monitors work schedules to determine work priorities.
  • Assists in managing incoming work orders and maintenance activities from customers, to include distributing, tracking, data logging, filing, reporting, and archiving.
  • Ensure Planner/Schedulers are providing accurate documentation to get the project ready for execution.
  • Assists with compiling, coordinating, reviewing, and processing project records, reports, and submittals.
  • Monitor and track workflow management programs.
  • Determine corrective actions which will ensure a high level of professional, courteous customer service delivery always.
  • Ensures accuracy of incoming work order data and proper classification of work order tickets prior to forwarding them to appropriate departments for execution.
  • Review work in progress to ensure procedures are being followed while meeting the highest level of customer service standards.
  • Interfaces with external and internal customers, as required, maximize productivity, and minimize lost time in a professional, pleasant, and courteous manner.
  • Reviews correspondence and communication from customers, such as customer survey results, and other inquiries and responds to them in a timely fashion with accurate professional responses.
  • Interacts with other teams to coordinate work, quality, and safety standards.
  • May occasionally be required to operate Customer and Company-owned motor vehicles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional, and mission requirements.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service work experience.
  • Minimum of one year of data entry experience.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, construction and repair terminology, project closeout procedures.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications. Prefer experience with NexGen IT software.
  • Prefer experience working in a military environment and familiarity with Air Force Civil Engineering guidance, rules, and regulations and/or government contracting.
  • Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug tests.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS)/Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to use standard office equipment/tools required for the position (computer, phone, tablet, copy machine, hand-held radio, etc.)
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand or sit for long periods at a time, use of hands and fingers, vision, hearing, and speaking.
