Blacksmith Agency is seeking a Senior WordPress Tech Lead to oversee end-to-end custom WordPress work for US-based clients. You will scope builds, drive efficient workflows with AI, and lead client communications while writing and reviewing real code.

This senior, client-facing role requires excellent English and deep WordPress expertise, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with remote work options across the US, Canada, LATAM or South Africa.

Qualifications

• Strong custom WordPress and PHP, plus modern HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Ability to scope work and tie it to a client's business goals.
• Fluent with AI to drive development efficiency.
• Client-facing communication and excellent English.
• Experience leading or owning builds, not just closing tickets.

Responsibilities

• Scope client work against business objectives and set the build approach.
• Lead custom WordPress builds: themes, templates, plugins and blocks.
• Drive efficiency with AI across the development process.
• Be the development voice the client hears, and keep their sites healthy.
