Virtasant is seeking a seasoned WordPress/PHP developer for a US real estate client. You’ll build and maintain consumer-facing WordPress sites, implement frontend tech (HTML/CSS/JS), and integrate external APIs with PHP/JavaScript.

This fully remote role requires based in Latin America, collaborating with cross‑functional teams in a fast-paced environment to deliver high‑quality code and an exceptional user experience.

Formación

• 3 to 5+ years in the WordPress/PHP stack.
• Frontend mastery: HTML, CSS, JS, AJAX.
• Deep PHP experience with custom classes, hooks, filters and debugging.
• Strong WordPress experience: CPTs, templates, plugins, themes.
• Experience with CPTs, WP functions, and troubleshooting.
• External API integration using REST/GraphQL.
• MySQL knowledge and efficient queries.
• 2+ years of Git for WordPress projects.

Your Location - Latin America

What You’ll Do

• Frontend WordPress Development: Use your expertise in WordPress, PHP, and frontend technologies (JavaScript/CSS) to enhance the consumer-facing websites and deliver a seamless, responsive user experience that meets the company’s high standards.
  

• SEO Integration and Optimization: Work with the SEO and content teams to develop, document, and implement technical SEO requirements. Ensure all frontend and backend work follows SEO best practices, including site speed, mobile-first indexing, and schema markup.
  

• Performance Optimization: Find and apply best practices for code efficiency, troubleshoot potential issues, and ensure all development work contributes to a fast, reliable website.
  

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have Experience

• 3 to 5+ years of experience in the stack below

• Frontend development mastery (HTML, CSS, JS, AJAX)

• Expert in CSS, SCSS, jQuery, JavaScript, Scoping JS and CSS, Ajax requests and responses

• PHP Expertise: creating and working with Custom Classes, Hooks, Filters, Actions, and troubleshooting

• WordPress Experience - Strong experience with CPTs, custom PHP templates, Plugins, Themes, WP built-in Functions, and troubleshooting.

  • ACF and Gutenberg are really neat nice-to-haves!

• External API Integration Experience - Working with REST and/or GraphQL APIs, including external endpoints, JSON payloads, request/response handling, and data integration using PHP and JavaScript.

• Experience with MySQL and efficient DB queries, using WP built-in functions, making efficient/light calls with speed in mind

• 2+ years' experience using Git for WordPress - GIT command line and repository control is a must‑sh? (typo maybe?)

• Ability to spot and defuse potential issues

Nice‑to‑have Experience

• Experience with GA4 and Google Tag Manager (GTM), including implementing custom JavaScript events, data layer pushes & tracking…

What we offer

• Totally remote, full-time (40h/week)

• Work hours - 8 hours, either US Central or Eastern time office hours
