Job summary

Amity Foundation in Tucson, AZ seeks a Wood Shop Lead Technician to oversee fabrication of millwork, furniture and decorative pieces within our residential campus workshop. The role emphasizes advanced carpentry, training of junior staff, and adherence to safety and design standards.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED or equivalent training or work experience.
Skilled in the use of powered and non-powered tools and equipment.
Ability to follow directions and respect leadership.

Responsibilities

Manufacture finished carpentry and furniture.
Teach lower level technicians the skills necessary to work in the Wood Shop.
Work diligently to meet strict design specifications and premium aesthetic quality standards.
Collect reports from lower level technicians regarding the inventory and inform the Supervisor when purchasing materials and supplies may be necessary.
Maintain and clean all tools and equipment.
Ensure that their work area (and adjacent work areas) are kept clean.
Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment by enforcing OSHA regulations, PPE compliance, and machine guarding.
Attends workshops, meetings, and training as requested by Furniture Shop Manager.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
