Job summary

Jubilee is seeking a Prison Chaplain for a part-time role to support life-change initiatives within prison settings. The role involves teaching, counseling, and coordinating gospel-centric worship and ministries for inmates and staff.

The position emphasizes prayer, devotion, and ministry to prison communities, with a mission-driven focus on empowering frontline teams and facilitating spiritual growth through the gospel.

Qualifications

• Committed to being an ambassador of life change through the gospel.
• Convinced of the authoritative nature of the Bible.
• Able to exercise judgment and provide counsel aligned with Jubilee’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Teach prison inmates about life change through the gospel.
• Provide Bible-based counseling to inmates.
• Pray for life change through the gospel for inmates.
• Coordinate weekly Christian worship services in the facility.
• Interact with inmates in housing areas during visits.
• Respond to inmate request forms promptly.
• Submit monthly reports on activities and outcomes.
• Attend required training as instructed by prison staff.
• Promote Women’s Aftercare initiatives within the facility.
• Assist in organising Jubilee activities in the facility.
• Minister to prison staff and partners on site.
• Participate in Chaplaincy staff meetings and team activities.

Who You Are

Chaplaincy Services

• Teach classes to prison inmates from the Bible about life change through the gospel
• Provide counsel to prison inmates from the Bible about life change through the gospel
• Pray that the Spirit of God would bring life change through the gospel to prison inmates
• Help coordinate weekly Christian worship services
• Visit inmate housing areas to interact with inmates
• Respond to Request Forms from inmates in a timely manner
• Maintain and submit monthly reports
• Attend required training as instructed by prison staff
• Promote Women’s Aftercare and facilitate inmate applications
• Assist in organizing and executing Jubilee activities in the facility
• Minister to prison staff within the facility
• Participate in Prison Chaplaincy staff meetings and other team-building activities

The Details

Hours: 12 hours per week

Compensation: $21.20
