Job summary

Stanford University’s DAPER department seeks an Assistant Coach for Women’s Lacrosse to support the Head Coach in training, strategy, mentoring, and recruitment. The role focuses on improving team performance through structured sessions and tactical guidance within NCAA and university policies.

The ideal candidate will bring lacrosse knowledge, teaching ability, and strong organizational skills, with on‑campus duties, and a commitment to Stanford Athletics’ high standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and prior coaching experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills in working with student‑athletes, peers, and the public.
• Ability to understand and comply with all rules and regulations of Stanford University, ACC, and NCAA.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach in planning and organizing team training, game strategy, player development, and player mentorship.
• Assist with recruiting student‑athletes to compete at Stanford following NCAA guidelines and policies; manage recruiting database and lead campus tours.
• Utilize ScoreBreak and JustPlay Sports Solutions for film analysis, video clipping and player development.
• Conduct in‑season scouting of opponents and prepare scouting reports for the head coach and team.
• Support operations: video replay, travel logistics, equipment and apparel distribution, team events and alumni engagement.
• Assist in planning Stanford Lacrosse Camps and ensure NCAA regulations are followed.
