Summary

• The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking an experienced, full‑time OBGYN Nurse Practitioner who will support full‑scope gynecologic care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. This role focuses on gynecologic care, including procedures, and actively supports the Menopause Program and delivery of perimenopausal and menopausal care.
• The individual will conduct telehealth and in‑person visits, determine clinical needs, order and interpret diagnostic testing and imaging, define treatment plans, perform in‑office procedures, make referrals to surgical/consult providers, provide direct complex gynecological care and medical management, and facilitate group clinical services and education. The provider is expected to be an active provider in the Penn Menopause Program and maintain certification as a Menopause Practitioner. The primary location is Penn Medicine Radnor, with potential travel to other sites.
• Consistent with the OBGYN Department mission to “Lead the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology by improving health equity and ensuring excellence in patient care, education and research, while fostering a culture of innovation, patient‑centeredness and connectivity,” the Nurse Practitioner will work with a multidisciplinary team to achieve departmental and program goals and support the education and research mission by participating in student clinical preceptorship and research activities.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct clinical care for patient population according to established protocols and utilizes evidence‑based practice standards in collaboration with the team.
• Maintains accurate and confidential medical records, documenting all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations in the electronic health record.
• Identifies self properly to the patient and family and clarifies the role of the nurse practitioner if necessary.
• Functions within scope and refers to the collaborating physician when outside scope or as directed by the physician or the patient/family.
• Performs interventions specific to the assigned patient population and collaborative agreement.
• Participates in performance improvement processes to meet quality of care and service standards.
• Demonstrates professional responsibility and serves as a role model to peers and members of the healthcare team.
• Performs approved therapeutic or diagnostic procedures based upon patient’s clinical status.
• Addresses patient and family concerns and creates a therapeutic relationship to provide support.
• Provides patient education, counseling and instruction regarding diagnosis, medical treatments, medications and preventative care.
• Participates in and supports accreditation, compliance and regulatory activities of the organization.
• Precepts NP students and other health care learners.
• Identifies patient/family needs for community resources and refers appropriately.

Credentials

• BLS/CPR as a healthcare provider (American Heart Association; ambulatory setting required)
• PA and/or NJ CRNP licensure (CRNP) required
• Prescriptive authority (required)

Education or Equivalent Experience

• Master’s Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Menopause Certification (MSCP) preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience; the CRNP must be reviewed by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Medical Board
