As the CFO and CEO's principal policy advisor, you will safeguard billions in operating, capital, and grant activity and ensure financial integrity of one of the nation's largest transit systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 10+ years executive/senior management experience in accounting for a large organization.
• Expert knowledge of governmental and enterprise accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and payroll administration.
• Exceptional executive communication, presentation, and advisory skills, with the ability to brief the CFO, CEO, Board, auditors, and regulators on complex financial matters.

WMATA is seeking an accomplished finance executive to serve as Vice President, Accounting, providing enterprise-wide leadership for accounting strategy, financial governance, and stewardship of public funds. As principal advisor to the Chief Financial Officer, General Manager/CEO, and Board of Directors, this executive will set accounting policy, safeguard billions of dollars in operating, capital, and grant-funded activity, and ensure the financial integrity of one of the nation's largest transit systems at a pivotal moment for the region’s transit funding future.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or a high school diploma/GED plus four years of qualifying executive-level experience in lieu of degree).
• 10+ years of executive/senior management experience in commercial or governmental accounting for a large organization, including five years of management experience.
• Expert knowledge of governmental and enterprise accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and payroll administration.
• Exceptional executive communication, presentation, and advisory skills, with the ability to brief the CFO, CEO, Board, auditors, and regulators on complex financial matters.

Preferred

• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
