Job summary

SPX Technologies is seeking an entry-level Wirer to assemble heater unit components per work orders, blueprints, and engineering specs. This hands-on role focuses on wiring, mounting, and quality assembly of electrical parts.

The position requires 1–3 months related experience, standing, lifting up to 25 pounds, and compliance with safety standards, in a loud manufacturing setting. Training and benefits are provided by SPX.

Qualifications

• One to three months related experience and/or training.
• Certification in ASME brazing procedures BPS-B1 to BPS-B5.
• Standing, manual dexterity, reach, lift up to 25 pounds, exposure to loud environment.

Responsibilities

• Lays out diagram for electrical installations according to wiring specifications.
• Drills and taps holes in specified locations for mounting control units.
• Attaches breakers, relays, connectors, bus bars, transformers, and insulators.
• Paints product as necessary.
• Installs and wires Thermostats and other options.
• Fabricates bussing, and solders connections.
• Tests and adjusts electrical components.
• Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervision or engineering to clarify assembly problems.

SPX is adiverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As Wirer, you will assemble all heater unit product codes and fabricate necessary components as required per work order, blue print, and engineering specification.

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

• One to three months related experience and/or training

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Certified in the following ASME brazing procedures, BPS-B1, BPS-B2, BPS-B3, BPS-B4, BPS-B5
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
