AMETEK, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a Wireperson who will assemble and wire complex electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies, collaborating with Engineering and plant management to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires basic electronics knowledge, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to read work instructions and specifications. Candidates should be able to read measuring devices and be prepared for overtime; excellent benefits and growth opportunities within the

  • Ability to read and apply work instructions and specifications.
  • Reading measuring devices accurately and using proper tools.
  • Safety conscious with good attendance and reliability.

Responsabilités

  • Wires complex electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Wires panels, PCBs and cabinets.
  • Performs wiring of components and runs; handles heavy parts.
  • Performs assembly tasks including layout, soldering and hardware prep.
  • Operates tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, micrometers, drills.
  • Follows safety, attendance and company policies; may work overtime.

Job Summary

The Wireperson is responsible for the assembly and wiring to complete complex electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies by working closely with Engineering and plant management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wires complex electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies
  • Wires panels, printed circuit boards and cabinets
  • Wires components and runs
  • Handles heavy components and sub-assemblies
  • Performs electronic and mechanical assembly tasks such as: component layout, component preparations, fastening cables, wiring, and soldering.
  • Operates tools and machinery such as: wrenches, screwdrivers, soldering irons, wire strippers, cutters, terminal lug crimpers, drills
  • Follows all company policies including but not limited to, safety, attendance, breaks, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to work overtime when warranted
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Four years’ experience working in a similar position.
Desired Qualifications
  • Be safety conscious
  • Possess experience and knowledge in basic electronics
  • Possess excellent mechanical ability
  • Able to read and use measuring devices including but not limited to:
    • Ruler in increments of tenths and hundredths of an inch
    • Ruler in increments of fractions of an inch
    • Micrometer in increments of thousandths of an inch
    • Calipers in increments of thousandths of an inch
  • Able to read work instructions and apply them to specific work types
  • Able to read supplied specification sheets and apply the data to specific work types

This position is located in Columbus, Ohio. Columbus will keep you entertained all year.
