Job summary

A confidential client in Houston is looking for a skilled Wireman to join the Panel Shop team. In this role, you'll be responsible for wiring, assembling, and installing electrical control panels, ensuring adherence to schematics and safety standards. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience with industrial control panels and an ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This position emphasizes quality workmanship and detail-oriented practices in an indoor environment.

Qualifications

Job description

Houston, TX: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wireman to join the Panel Shop team for a confidential client. This position is responsible for wiring, assembling, and installing electrical control panels and related components in accordance with schematics, drawings, and specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial control panels, PLC systems, and low- to medium-voltage equipment, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Essential Duties
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and layout drawings.
  • Assemble and wire industrial control panels, switchgear, and electrical enclosures.
  • Install and terminate wiring for PLCs, relays, breakers, motor starters, VFDs, and other control components.
  • Perform point-to-point wiring and ensure proper labeling and identification of components.
  • Mount and secure electrical components inside panels according to layout drawings.
  • Conduct continuity testing and assist with functional testing of completed panels.
  • Troubleshoot and correct wiring issues as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with panel modifications and rework when required.
Requirements / Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience wiring industrial control panels preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of PLC wiring, control circuits, and basic electrical theory.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment (multimeter, continuity tester, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Manual dexterity to handle wiring and small components.
  • Ability to work in an indoor panel shop environment and perform occasional overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
