Job summary

Telamon Corporation in Carmel/Indianapolis area seeks a Wireless Technician II to install and maintain wireless infrastructure across macro, small cell, and DAS environments. This developing-level role performs defined work packages with moderate supervision to ensure safety and quality.

Expect a non-exempt hourly position with Monday–Friday schedule, travel up to 80%, and a pay rate of $23 per hour. Requires HS diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.

  • Wireless industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install and service macro and small cell wireless systems.
  • Route and install coax, fiber, and power cabling.
  • Install antennas, radios, and head-end gear.
  • Ground and bond per code and carrier standards.
  • Support testing: sweep, PIM, fiber.
  • Read drawings and document installations.

Job Summary

The Wireless Technician II performs skilled installation and maintenance of wireless telecommunications infrastructure across macro, small cell, and DAS environments. This role executes construction and installation activities in the field while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and carrier standards. Technician II is a developing-level role responsible for executing defined work packages with moderate supervision and increasing technical independence.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Installation & Construction Execution
  • Install, maintain, repair, and retrofit macro, small cell, IDAS, and ODAS systems
  • Install vertical and horizontal cabling (coax, fiber, power)
  • Determine appropriate cable routing and best-path solutions
  • Install antennas, radios, remote units, racks, head-end equipment
  • Perform grounding and bonding per code and carrier requirements
  • Execute OEM installation standards
Technical Work & Testing Support
  • Assist with sweep testing, PIM testing, and fiber testing
  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Label and document installations according to carrier standards
  • Support closeout documentation with accurate photos and reporting
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow OSHA, NFPA, and company safety protocols
  • Maintain job site cleanliness and organization
  • Safely operate lifts and bucket trucks
  • Work at heights up to 70 feet
Managerial Responsibility
  • This role has no direct reports.
Travel/Shift Requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
  • Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time, including air travel.
  • Travel is typically Monday through Friday, returning home on Fridays.
  • Occasional projects may require travel for up to 10 consecutive days, followed by approximately 4 days at home.
  • Current project locations include Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Florida, and Arizona.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors, on ladders, and in confined spaces
  • Ability to work with and around electrical wires and components and/or ESD products
  • Ability to work remotely at construction or installation sites
  • Ability to repeatedly ascend and descend ladders and lifts up to 50 feet
  • Ability to climb heights up to 70 feet as required
Skills And Abilities Required
  • Working knowledge of wireless infrastructure systems
  • Familiarity with PIM and sweep testing equipment
  • Basic understanding of fiber handling and termination
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Knowledge of carrier installation standards
  • Safe operation of power tools and testing equipment
  • Detail-oriented with strong quality focus
  • Effective communicator with team members and supervisors
  • Able to work independently on assigned tasks
  • Strong time management and reliability
Education And Experience Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1–2 years of relevant field installation experience
  • Wireless industry experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
